According to a report of TOI According to a report by TOI, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways ( MoRTH) has mandated all vehicles to have an high security registration plate ( HSRP) that have been sold prior to April, 2019.

What is HSRP?

This high security registration plateis made up of aluminium and is secured to the vehicle with two non-reusable locks. The registration plate comes with a hot-stamped chromium-based hologram that depicts Ashoka Chakra on the top left corner which is blue and measures precisely 20mm x 20mm.

How much does HSRP cost?

The central government hasn't put a limit on the cost of HSRP this means that the cost may vary in different states. On average, the HSRP costs about Rs 400 for two-wheelers and $1100 for four-wheelers, based on the classification. The color-coded stickers are placed on vehicles that are equipped with an HSRP.
